Smoked Tofu
Hot-smoked tofu, roasted with soy sauce and sesame oil over cherry wood.
This tofu is hot smoked over cherry wood and seasoned with soy sauce and sesame oil, lending it a wonderfully rich and deep flavour and creamy texture.
Unlike supermarket smoked tofu, which is smoked cold and tends to be very subtle in flavour, this tofu is seasoned and roasted while smoking. This gives it a firm, creamy consistency and a big hit of salty, umami flavour from the soy.
It's great cold as a snack, or used in curries, stews and stir-fries as a replacement for pork, beef or chicken. The depth of flavour means that it will happily stand up to any other ingredients in the pot, so you don't have to worry about heavily seasoning everything else because tofu tends to suck flavour out of things. Try making vegan gumbo or just topping a salad with it!
Each pack contains four pieces, which (depending on how you intend to use it) is between 2 and 4 portions.
